Our Beliefs

First Baptist Church of Jonestown is a Spirit led body of believers under the head of Jesus Christ. It is our absolute conviction that God is the creator of the universe and all inhabitants.

What we Believe

We believe that His Son, Jesus was born of a virgin, was unjustly crucified, rose on the third day after His death, ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God awaiting the day to be determined by God for His return in fulfillment of His promise to the disciples and to all mankind as recorded in God's Holy Word.

Our Purpose

  • To be a dynamic spiritual organism empowered by the Holy Spirit to share Christ with as many people as possible in our church, the community, and throughout the world.
  • To be a worshiping fellowship experiencing an awareness of God, recognizing His person and responding in obedience to His leadership.
  • To experience an increasingly meaningful fellowship with God and fellow Christians. To be a church that ministers unselfishly to persons in the community and the world, in Jesus' name.
  • To be a church whose rationale is to be Christ-like in our daily living by emphasizing total commitment of life, personality, and possessions to the Lordship of Christ.
